DESCRIPTION:Thompson is Great!  Let’s Celebrate!\nThe 19th annual Thompson Community Day will be held on Saturday\, September 30th\, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverside Park in North Grosvenordale\, CT. \nThompson Community Day has been postponed to Sunday\, Oct. 1\, 2023 11 am – 4 pm\nCommunity Day celebrates the unique people\, organizations\, and businesses in Thompson and offers all people in the community an opportunity to become familiar with our community asset and to enjoy local talent. \nYou can participate in one or more of the following ways: \n\nBooth reservations are free to non-profit and civic groups.\nBusiness/Vendor Booths: $25 for Thompson Residents and $40 for Non Residents. Businesses can promote themselves and/or sell products on site. \nBanner purchase: Banners hang outdoors along Route 12 at Riverside Park during the weeks leading up to Community Day. If you have purchased a banner previously the cost is $30 to re-hang it at the Park. If you would like to purchase a new banner the cost is $90. New banners must be purchased prior to Sept 1st. \nWhite Elephant booths available on the Riverside Softball Field.  Sell used\, unwanted\, and/or tag-sale items.  Must provide own table/tent. 10′ x 10′ space assigned. $15 for Thompson Residents and $20 for Non Residents\n\nVisit the event as a guest for which there is no entrance fee.

DESCRIPTION:65 Main – Small Business Center & Public Food Forest Planning Project Intro \n\n\n\nThe Town of Thompson Department of Planning and Development has been awarded funding from the USDA Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production (UAIP) grant program to develop a Small Business Support Center with a focus on food system and agriculture start-ups at the Town-owned building located at 65 Main Street in the North Grosvenordale neighborhood. The UAIP planning project will capitalize on these traditions and regional resources. \nA key component of the planning process is a year-long public workshop series\, meeting monthly\, to address the specific needs of Thompson’s small business community\, identify deficits in local food security and\, imagine ways in which the business center at 65 Main Street can show the highest community utility. These workshops will present all aspects of the project and solicit input from residents and stakeholders to be considered as part of the final master plan for the facility. \nThe public workshop will launch on Wednesday\, October 4\, 2023\, from 6-8PM at the Thompson Public Library Community Center 934 Riverside Drive\, North Grosvenordale\, CT 06255.  \nProject partners will discuss all elements of the project\, answer questions\, and outline the schedule for the workshop series. \nAll are invited to attend.
