DESCRIPTION:  The 17th annual Thompson Community Day will be held on Saturday\, October 2\, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. (Rain Date: October 9th) at Riverside Park in North Grosvenordale\, CT. \n     Community Day celebrates the unique people\, organizations\, and businesses in Thompson and offers all people in the community an opportunity to become familiar with our community asset and to enjoy local talent. \nYou can participate in one or more of the following ways:\n  \n – Booth reservations are free to non-profit and civic groups. \n – Business/Vendor Booths: $25 for Thompson Residents and $40 for Non Residents. Businesses can promote themselves and/or sell products on site.  \n – Banner purchase: Banners hang outdoors along Route 12 at Riverside Park during the weeks leading up to Community Day. If you have purchased a banner previously the cost is $30 to re-hang it at the Park. If you would like to purchase a new banner the cost is $90. But getting outside can also be intimidating. Join Northeast Opportunities for Wellness (NOW) Executive Director Tayler Shea\, TLGV’s Ranger Bill and TLGV’s TerraCorps Service Member Monique Salvas as we hit the trails in Thompson to teach kids how to be safe\, fuel their bodies (there will be snacks!) and enjoy the outdoors. We’ll stretch\, learn and explore the trails in two sessions Nov. 27. From 10 am to noon we will gear the program to little ones ages 4 to 9 (younger children are welcome). At 1 pm we’ll tackle the trail with kids 10 and up. Registration for this free program is required. Parking is limited.
