DESCRIPTION:TLGV Adventure: Quinebaug River Paddle from Fabyan to West Thompson Lake \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen: 5/13/2023 @ 9:00 am \n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin TLGV Chief Ranger Bill Reid and Park Rangers from the West Thompson Lake\, Corps of Engineers Project Area for an enjoyable springtime paddle on the Quinebaug River from Fabyan to West Thompson Lake. Feel the pull of the river under your boat as we paddle this scenic section of the Quinebaug where wildlife\, including a huge variety of birds\, otters and beavers. The paddle will be about 5 miles and includes moving water\, possible river obstacles and open lake water. We will paddle from the launch at Fabyan Rd. to the boat launch and landing area at West Thompson Lake. Registration is required. You must bring your own boat and PFD. DESCRIPTION:TLGV Acorn Adventure – Hiking 101 with NOW\n10 am to noon & 1 -3 pm\, Nov. 27\nThompson Trails\, Thompson CT\n \nExploring the outdoors of The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor is a perfect – and free – way to enjoy time together as a family. But getting outside can also be intimidating. Join Northeast Opportunities for Wellness (NOW) Executive Director Tayler Shea\, TLGV’s Ranger Bill and TLGV’s TerraCorps Service Member Monique Salvas as we hit the trails in Thompson to teach kids how to be safe\, fuel their bodies (there will be snacks!) and enjoy the outdoors. We’ll stretch\, learn and explore the trails in two sessions Nov. 27. From 10 am to noon we will gear the program to little ones ages 4 to 9 (younger children are welcome). At 1 pm we’ll tackle the trail with kids 10 and up. Registration for this free program is required. Parking is limited.
